  • New Tow Vehicle and Question

We picked up a tow vehicle on Saturday, its a 96 3/4 ton suburban with 184,000 miles, 454, 4x4, with tranny cooler and tow package. We basically stole this from the guy that was selling it, but it has a few issues. Issue one is the gear selector is broke, it shifts out of park, but then you have to move the rods under the steering wheel to select the gear you want. Is there an easy fix for this? Issue two is the brake booster is leaking, is it cheaper to just replace it or have someone look at it?
We plan on using it to tow for the next two years or so, then it might just become the next truggy, yes indeed Carwash it will be just as ugly as the original.

Here are a couple of pics.

Nice burb! Put a 6bta cummins in it when the 454 goes and double your fuel mileage. Just replace the booster! Shifter sounds tricky.

i bet the shifter can be fixed with a junkyard column or parts from one. may not be simple, as you probably have to remove a lot of **** to get that thing out of there.

just replace the leaky booster, much easier.

nice looking burb, will make a good tow vehicle, minus the mileage, but hey you can't have it all.

when yer done towing with it, don't truggy it, sell it to me.
