  • 30 day Budget Wheeler by Roy...

Don't expect a wicked bad arse rig. This is a rent-a-rig project while Buford is down for the winter. It's a cheap wheeler on a budget....enjoy:

since you have no gas tank skid & your rear floor is shot to hell, remove your tank, sawzall a hole into the rear area & sit your tank down into it, now your tank is up out of the way & your floor is "whole" again.

otherwise I like how ya think as far as getting it done.

        Thanks KargoMaster.

Jfiscus: The Jeep is currently at my buddy's shop (same guy that I conned into welding my rear end). He is dropping the tank, cutting out the bad section, beefing the inside of the rear "frame rails" and adding 1/8" thick steel to the floor pan area. I bought a 4x8 sheet of 11 gauge (1/8") for Buford's "new" cab floor and there is plenty left to use on the Jeep. The tank will be back in it's stock location. I understand your idea, but I want the tank under the vehicle (not in it), and I want to keep the cargo floor area flat.

I am having him do a few other simple welding mods to it. I don't trust my own welding skills for anything important.

I figured it was about time I contribute something semi-useful to this site other than hawking junk in the for sale forum.
