    I think late 90s chev one ton trucks had 1350 rears... Could use those to build one

      You won't find any with slip yoke driveshafts though. I would try looking at later model Dodge or Ford trucks with the diesels as I believe they have 1350's, though not sure if they have flanges and CV's but might get you the parts.

        Just an update on what I'm working on. Ordered some shaft and couplers from surplus center. 1 3/8" 21 spline. A 12" shaft and 2 couplings (2 1/4" long each) ran me right at $100 shipped to the door. Going to attempt to make a long slip shaft for one of my Toyotas this weekend.

        Anyone have any tips for keeping everything fairly straight and true?

          It's Power Clutch & Drive now. I called them yesterday to see if they can match a slip to my 16 spline shaft. I have to take it them and see if they have anything. If not, off to you pull...

          I don't know if an 1 3/8 shaft would hold up in my rig. It would be nice if I could.

          That's the hard part. I usually just roll it back and forth and eyeball it. I would never notice a vibration with my tires though.

            don't know if it will work for your stuff having not seen it but when I have lengthened or shortened some I use a piece of angle iron long enough to lay the pieces in and that will keep 2 sides straight and that has always worked for me.

                Diameter should be kept as small as possible for clearance issues such as rocks and crossmembers. 1/4" wall tubing at 1 3/8" diameter held up to a stout big block with no problems.

                  I always used these from power clutch and drive. they usually have
                  them in stock.
                  the parts are made by Neapco,
                  the male # is 72-2231
                  female is # 53-2415

                          What yoke did you get that fits that splined shaft you got?

                            I'm going to try this too. I ordered 4 couplings and a shaft. 1 of the couplings will be welded to the shaft and then welded in the tube. The other 3 couplings will get welded together for 6 3/4" of splined slip, and welded inside the tube. I ordered two 1350 weld yokes from Drivetrain America that will fit in a piece of my 2 1/8 DOM that I had left over from my cage. I will have the shop down the street turn down the couplings to fit inside my DOM tube. 2" to 1.178" This cost was $200 to my door.

                              Update on the drive shaft I built using the 1 3/8 spline from surplus center. It failed after 3 trips. I twisted the splines enough to lock it up. I hit a rut and it jammed the d shaft through the transfer case.

                              I ended up buyng the Neapco parts that fabricator mentioned from drivetrain america to build a new one. I worked it out so I could reuse the end yokes I had. This one is 1 5/8, so it better last...
