  • School me on Ford 9"'s

Looking at maybe swapping a 9" into my toyota truggy. I know almost nothing about these axles though. What do I need to look for? I know the aftermarket is huge for them, and parts are relatively cheap.

I have been running a 9" from a bronco in my Sammy for about 8 years now. it has been cut to have the offset on pass side and I added a 33 spline axles, a full spool and a homemade disk brake setup. it has been trouble free all this time so no complaints on its service to me.
    pros
extensive amount of parts and gear choices
pinion guards are offered for it like the 14 b
    cons
wont have the clearance the Toyota diff has
    its a ford(humpy)

look at currie enterprises the rear they sell is one type of housing and the
front one for jeeps is another . I have one of each if you want to put it next to yours to decide what you want.

I have a 609 in the front of my jeep. really nice set-up and the R&P is strong with the third bearing on the pinion, better ground clearance than a Dana 44. downside is the really low pinion and the high cost of a true high 9 center section.
