Rush Annual Trail Clearing 4/27-4/29

It's that time again! Join us and help make Rush Off-Road even better. We try to make at least one new trail or improve on other trails. This year we want to finish out Rankin's Ravine, and work on Unfinished Business. Rankin's Ravine is already an awesome trail, and will be even better with time.
We usually spend a few hours on Saturday working on the trails, and wheel the rest of the time.
Make sure to bring any tree removal tools you have.

Post up if you'd like to join us.

I'm in

WrenchMonkey 03-29-2018 06:20 PM

I will be there. Friday night to Sunday. Bringing a decent chainsaw.

We talked briefly about trying to get heavy equipment back to "Unfinished Business." Any substance to that?

Smiddy24 03-30-2018 07:58 AM

We will be there with one chainsaw.

I plan on leaving Dayton around noonish Friday. Anything special I should bring for the clean up? Other than a saw...

I plan on leaving around 10 am, so see ya down there.
Unless you can get a bobcat, just a saw will do.

I think we decided at the meeting last night, to work on the exit from Rankin Ravine. For those that don't know, this is how to get there:

Trails 9, 11, 15 and 68 all meet at the "Playground," the pink dot on Rush's map

From there, head north on trail nine, less than 1000 feet, past the first valley on the left.

The first ridge on the left is the access trail, about where Trail 9 curves right.

Take that trail down about a quarter mile to the bottom, then turn hard right, back up the creek. Rankin Ravine.

And good luck!

My work schedule changed. Not going to be able to make this trip.

That's what I was thinking. Isn't that the whole reason you have kids? To mow the grass, fetch the beer, and tend to the little BS hassles you as a grownup are too busy for?

Jimmy, get on it!
