2017 RZR XPT Build
 

Going to post up pics of the 2017 Polaris RZR 1000 Turbo build. Looking to make it a woods machine and sand/snow machine with tire/cage changes.

Here are a few of the mods to be completed.

Built cage for woods and stock cage for sand.
MTX sound, sirius satellite
4500 lb. wide spool winch
High clearance trailing arms
Led front and spot lighting
4 point harness
Parking brake
Beadlocks
Mirrors
Doors
Storage
Windshield low profile and full
Shock rework
182 hp tune
Rhino front and rear axles
30-32" tires? Need to decide on size and flavor.
Sand tires
Extinguisher
Rack to fit on top of truck bed

Getting the machine was tricky and I ended up picking it up in Sunman for my Tri -County Polaris dealer. It was not fully assembled and the wastegate shoulder bolt was robbed from it for another customers 2016 turbo. It runs but I need to fix this before any WOT hits.

Did you kill your old 1000?

Just added a bunch of character to it! Sold it to a friend who was aware of it's history.

Putting on doors, building cage and adding 4 point belts.

wow...that is going to be really capable..Now to get you back in the club and on the trails again with us.

Cage partially fabbed, 32" tires with beadlocks installed.

Looking good.

Don't forget an UHMW skid. Even with those I have managed to bend up my cross members on both the 2 and 4 seater. I think Polaris needs to add some more beef to the cross members and lower frame rails.

Must be you. Check the camera angle. Has plenty of clearance.

My factory one put up a great fight on the last one. I may buy one but have not purchased just yet.

I make time to wheel in the winter and early spring. Most wheel in the summer and fall. 10 degrees and snow can be a lot of fun! I should be headed to rush offroad in 2 weeks.

Winter wheeling isn't bad, it's winter camping that sucks. I'm headed to harlan feb 17. Staying on the putney side in an rv spot. I'd go to rush if i had a place to plug my camper in.

I will be camping in Gatlinburg on the 17th. We may cross paths!

Removed dash and console for wiring. Cage finished up. Winch, light wiring left.

Installing high clearance radius arms. Rear bumper will need to be clearance for this to work with full suspension travel.

Cage is .120 wall in critical areas and .090 in remaining areas. Gussets double as grab handles and anchor points. Tied into bumpers as well as the front and rear frame. This will improve the factory cage structure and integrity by more than double.

One big dilemma is weather or not to build the front diff before it blows. It will be easier to get to with the winch out. This entails a stronger billet bearing cage from 7075 grade aluminum, roll pin upgraded from .093 to .125 hardened dowel, hardened toner ring and spring tuned. Not sure yet.

Build the diff now. With that much power and bigger tires, it will die. Plus, I've seen the way you drive. :surprise:

Is it done?

I was thinking about going to the volunteer day but I don't really know if I have the time or the spare money right now to give up at day.

But it would be a great way to meet the folks involved with the park and get definite answers on good sxs parking.

Red river gorge area. Hit carb, Townsend cave, Smyth cemetery, dune buggy hill, hat box etc... 40 degrees and rain was rough but covered 65 miles in 6 hours.

Wish I knew you were going, I'd had came down for sure
