3/16th plate steel

anyone need any , I got a deal ( I think ) on 4'x8'+ sheets if there is enough interest I may get a bunch. I'm going to pick some up on Monday , if it is good quality , as in rust and twist free I'll post up prices.

JeffK5 02-28-2010 10:13 AM

I'd be down for one sheet once you get an idea of price... any chance for 1/8"?

How about Aluminium sheet?

Jeff

Hope Springs Hauler 02-28-2010 10:15 AM

I could use 1 as well

WrenchMonkey 02-28-2010 11:01 AM

Depending on the price, I might...

Thanks!

Robert

I would be in for a sheet of 3/16" (or even 7ga.) may be up for 1/8" sheet as well. Let us know what price you can get.

sarge 02-28-2010 03:11 PM

can only get the 3/16 , I talked to my guy today and they will be out of the shop until midweek so I will be waiting on him to call me . I will let everyone know as soon as I get the first load. Looks like it's going to run about $100.00 for a full 4'x8' sheet. just a ball park guess , I will confirm when I pick mine up.

I assume it's A36 plate and should be about 250lbs. per 4x8 sheet for 3/16". Have to figure how manny strong backs needed to load a sheet in the truck!

that doens't look quite like 8'... or 4' for that matter.

WrenchMonkey 03-01-2010 10:03 AM

Didn't you see Willy Wonka? When you transmit stuff over the innerweb, it comes out smaller on the other side.

Do I have to explain everything to you people?

I'm only going to be able to get about 6 sheets , it is straight , twist and rust free new plate and is 245 lbs.

I will be getting it next week I hope ! I will let everyone know when I get it . I will be bringing it to my house and putting it in the garage to keep it out of the weather . I will not deliver ! the **** is just too heavy to be loading and unloading ...... the cost is $95 a sheet . I have a plasma cutter and can cut a sheet in half if needed for cardboard box with frosty adult beverages inside. :beers:

If your in, and want a sheet post up , I will go in order of post.

jfiscus 03-16-2010 01:30 PM

on 2nd thought i'll take a whole sheet if available, but can you cut it in half?
My plasma has not made it home yet... :(

kyrel69 03-16-2010 02:41 PM

I will take 1/2 a sheet

comanchedude 03-16-2010 03:46 PM

I will take half sheet

JeffK5 03-16-2010 08:37 PM

I'll take a whole uncut sheet.. let me know if you need money before you get the sheets in your possession.

I can tell you that getting money up front is a good idea.. When I was pimping the 1/4" plate I had 20 people "commit" to wanting full and half sheets and when it came time to collect I was left holding the bag. It ended up taking 3 months of re-pimping to clear my garage of 6,000 lbs. of steel
